NEWS::DIRECTOR, ANTHONY MINGHELLA DIES AT 54

The Oscar-winning director known for such works such as The Talented Mr. Ripley and The English Patient has died at 54. The news came this morning when his agent, Judy Daish, confirmed the news to the press, but has yet to disclose the cause of death.

Minghella was set to write and direct a sequel to last years Paris, Je T'Aime, the follow-up being New York, I Love You. But the films direction has yet to be decided.

Theory and Scott Harrison’s non-profit organization, Charity, have joined forces in an effort to improve hygienic water conditions in Ethiopia.
A special event will be hosted this weekend in hopes of raising money for the cause, which will work towards the building of drinking wells throughout the impoverished country.

The prestigious Whitney Museum will open their doors for their annual Whitney Biennial: an event in which dozens of emerging artists will gain incomparable exposure.
The Whitney Biennial 2008, which is being curated by Henriette Huldisch and Shamim M. Momin, officially opened on the 4th, but only to curators and gallery owners.
The museum will host the work of Contemporary artists as well as their permanent collection.
