Song of the Week::M83 "Kim & Jessie"
I've been hearing this song for months now, maybe even a year. But I was never able to find the name. And finally, last night, a dear bartender put my suffering to rest. Thank you.

Vogue // Michelle Williams
A cropped Mia Farrow'esque haircut - ala Rosemary's Baby - accentuates Michelle William's pixie-like features. Her daily style is a mix of understated cool Brooks Brothers button downs and relaxed fit cut-offs, yet she still has an ability to look enviably classic when wearing designer clothing to award shows and premieres. Williams is the newest cover girl for Vogue, and Sally Singer visits the actress and single mother at her upstate New York home (her other home is in Brooklyn), and gets a few words with the complex starlet who defines the meaning of a strong single parent trying to get through it all.

Delusional Downtown Divas
Delusional Downtown Divas are webisodes we found out about not too long ago through the grape vine, and now, we just can't get enough. Currently streaming on Index Magazine online, the show's creators, Lena Dunham, Joana D'Avillez, and Isabel Halley have a knack for dry humor and wit. It's Absolutely Fabulous meets Party Girl.
"Delusional Downtown Divas chronicles the adventures of Oona, Swann, and AgNess, three young women hungry for art-world stardom but comically unaware of how to reach their goal of stylish domination. The DDD's are downtown natives, living in AgNess' father's Tribeca loft. They spend their days smoking pot, changing outfits every few minutes, and plotting about out how to worm their way back into the art world they were raised in-- but now they're adult women with professional aspirations, not just kids stealing pretzels from Leo Castelli's gallery kitchen."

Observe This Blog:: Sexy People
At first glance, the blog Sexy People, is a comedic look at how people pose for their obligatory class photos and family portraits. But it's also an interesting sociological look at everyone's need to appear functional and camera-ready. Nonetheless, we've all been there! And if this doesn't provide some camaraderie in embarrassing portrait moments, then I don't know what will.

Going Gaga For Preen
New York Fall Fashion Week is upon us, and we cannot contain ourselves, because despite economic woes, designers are turning it out full force giving us hope for a more fruitful future. Preen, which showed today, displayed an eclectic mix of duds infused with colors (like that pink number we're eyeing) but also toned it down with sophisticated black trousers and monochromatic tops. We loves.
The Ace Hotel, New York
I was delightfully introduced to the bar at The Ace Hotel this week, which is chicly stylized with deep-cushioned leather couches, dim lighting, and prohibition influenced decor. Although I didn't have the pleasure of escaping to the plush interiors of the hotel rooms, from the slideshow above, I can tell that I'd fall equally as hard for the impeccable furnishing and design.

The Young, Hungry, And Fashionable Pursue A Career In Fashion Despite Grim Times
No one said it would be easy. However, it doesn't seem as though many starving for a piece of the fashion pie have gotten the memo. The Times ran a piece today about just that. Young girls and boys all around the country are yearning for an "in" into the fashion world, whether runway or editorial, yet many are left never fulfilling their desired ambitions. A thorough run through is given in the piece, and sheds some realistic light on the competitive industry. The verdict? It takes work, people! Oh, and lots of charm.

STERLING CRISPIN DIRECTS PICTUREPLANE "GOTH STAR"
We’re kicking ourselves in the butt right about now for not keeping a hold of our VHS camcorder (thank goodness for Ebay, though). This seems to be the recent trend amongst music video directors, putting stop-motion effects on the backburner and taking an equally old school approach to vintage music video making. We,however, feel the song more than the video. Thoughts?
